QuickStart : Logins, Settings & Navigation : Navigation Basics
OurStoryz is a complex system, so we have provided multiple ways for you to navigate to your events, event groups (Storyz), guest lists, and other areas.
The following summarizes how to "get around" OurStoryz efficiently.
Menu navigation - desktop and laptop
After login on a desktop, you will see a blue "service menu" on desktop, with the following options available.

Menu navigation - tablets and mobile
If you are on mobile, select the "hamburger" menu at top-left to reach the top-level menu items.

Note that the mobile menu has an additional "Return" option, which makes it easier to navigate on small screens without a lot of scrolling. For example, if you are viewing the Organization level, and you select "Return", you will see a list of all the pages in Organization

"Flying Dialogs"
Sometimes you will be deep in a task, and need to find a Storyz or event. The fastest way to do this is to select "Storyz" or "Events" from the blue service menu. A dialog will slide out from the left, with a global list of all your Storyz and Events.
In the following example, the user was looking at "Checklists", and selected the "Storyz" menu item. A dialog appears which let you jump to any Storyz. The use selected "Wedding Story" and routed to the dashboard for that Storyz.

Note that you can even add new Storyz or Events using these dialogs. This is helpful if you are a professional event planner who needs to quickly set up large numbers of Storyz or events for your clients.
Page Headers
The top of the page also has useful navigation features. The header changes depending on where you are in the system. The example below shows a typical page header.

Here is a summary of the page headers that have this design
- Organization
- Storyz
- Event
- Invitations
- Guest List
- Vendors
- Notifications
- Messages
- Calendar
- Checklists and todos
Event Dashboard Header
The Event Dashboard has a slightly different organization

Locator and DIY users will mostly be editing events, so the header is limited to:
Link to parent Storyz
Selecting this part of the header routes the user to the parent Storyz. It is useful when working with a large number of events which are all being updated, since the Storyz dashboard will show all the related events.
Special Operations (standard)
Most OurStoryz users will see the following controls on the right-hand side of page headers.

Reset Panels
- Reset Panels - If you have been dragging or opening and closing panels, this lets you set the state of all the panels to the start of your login session
- Undo edits - If you made edits on a page, you can undo them.
Change Language
- Use this option to select the default language for your account.
- Other Admins (users) in the system will not be affected.
- The Account Owner sets the default language, if you don't override it yourself.
Help
- Knowledge base - this goes to our OurStoryz help archive. You can browse the archive, or conduct searches, to find out more about tasks and features on the current page. The knowledge base is customized for each page in the application.
- Support chat - this brings up our chat system. Type in your question or problem. The automated assistant will evaluate, and determine if you need to speak to a support person.
- Community - this is a discussion board on ourstoryz.com where you can post your question to other users
Special operations (Testers Only)
If you are working as an OurStoryz tester, the top right of the page header will have some additional icons.

Debugging - define user task flow
This allows a tester to indicate that a task has begun. When they are ready to start a task, the tester selects the icon. The icon color will change. Any actions the user performs in OurStoryz will now be performed as part of their test.

After the test is complete, the tester selected the highlighted icon, and the debugging icon will reset to its original appearance.
Debugging - Report bugs
If the "bug" icon is visible, selecting it will bring up a dialog where the tester can report a problem or error to the OurStoryz IT administrators.
